Luxury Kilimanjaro Machame Climb

8 NIGHTS / 9 DAYS

Itinerary

Safari Overview

For seven days, you will soak up the majestic views and rugged adventure that make up ascending Mount Kilimanjaro from the tough-but-not-too-tough Machame Route. Considered among the most scenic of all the paths up the world’s highest free-standing mountain – you will see the Shira Plateau and possibly the Kibo caldera and ancient volcanic ash pit – Machame has just the right amounts of remoteness, adventure and exertion required to make you feel like you have reached your bucket-list goal but also had an enjoyable holiday.

Although you will be spending your days hiking through varied terrain, your nights will pass in complete comfort on a 3-inch foam mattress in a spacious 3-person pup tent (for every two guests) with a sub-zero sleeping bag. In addition, there is a dedicated toilet tent and a wash tent can be requested. If you need even more pampering, you can upgrade to the VIP option that includes a walk-in tent and full-length sleeping cots.

The mess tent is kitted out with chairs and tables for you to enjoy your tasty meals and your health will be constantly monitored to ensure that you are acclimatizing sufficiently to the thinner air. A portable altitude chamber and oxygen supplies are also carried on every trip in case of emergency.

Before and after your Kili climb, you will spend the night – making the trip nine days in total – at Legendary Lodge in Arusha, which is very comfortable guesthouse set in a fragrant coffee plantation with plenty of sports facilities available.
