About Kenya

Kenya is located on the East Coast of Africa, with the Equator running almost straight through the middle of the country. It lies within latitude of 50 North and 400 South on one hand and 340 East longitudes. It has an area of 582.644 sq.kms. (224,900 sq.miles) of which 45,240 Sq.Kms (7.8 per cent) is under wildlife conservation sanctuaries(National Parks and National Reserves).

The country’s altitude ranging from sea level to 5.199 metres makes its climate very greatly from high humid temperatures of the Coast (830F) to the often cold and wet regions in the country. With the Equator transversing the country, there are only two rain seasons- the long rains from October through to December. Sunshine is experienced thought the year although it becomes cooler during the months of June, July and August.

If you visit Kenya, you will discover a wonderful country with a magnificent tapestry of mountains, lakes, beaches and wildlife reserves which form the glorious physical background of our country.

Kenya is one of the favorite destinations for travelers all over the world. It is an all year round destination and has so much to offer. It is a country of natural beauty, warm, friendly people and a lot of charm.

Your holiday would be most enjoyable as you explore the natural jungle settings and then, there are the people who made Kenya what it is; a cosmopolitan cocktail or religion and culture that makes a visit such a rewarding and memorable experience. As so many have discovered your “Kenya experience” will leave a lasting impression and invite your return. The official languages are English and Swahili; however, we have safari guides speaking Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish.

Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya and popularly known as “City in the Sun”. It lies 160 kms south of the Equator and is 1675 (530ft) above the sea level. Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is the main gateway to this cosmopolitan city and it is 20kms away from the city centre.
