Attractions while on Masai Mara Kenya Safari:

High animal population

Mara is a very big reserve but driving about in the park for a approximately two hours you get to see most of the game including many lions, cheetahs elephants, giraffe, buffaloes, hyenas, warthogs, and many groups of the several classes of antelopes like topi, eland, gazelles, kudu, bush back and several other animals in the cat family.

Mara river

The river runs across the park and it’s the main contributor to the high animal population in the mara reserve. The Mara River is permanent and has good volumes of water year round. It has a very high number of crocodiles mainly concentrated on the animals cross points especially during the great migration

There are four major forms of landscape in the mara as follows:

  • Ngama hills on the eastern side covered by bushes and it’s an area frequented by the black rhino
  • Oloololo Escarpment forming a beautiful expansive plateau with fascinating views on the horizons
  • Mara Triangle which is an amazing landscape of grassland and acacia woodlands bordering the mara river providing grazing field to a lot of animals especially migrating wildebeest
  • Central Plains forming the biggest area of the reserve, with spread out bushes and huge rounded rocks on the rolling grasslands full of plains game
